Hi everyone,
Wow this mascara has quite a name!
According to Maybelline it's:
- Mega lash volume that's never brittle or flaky
- Revolutionary Gel-Mousse formula with 40% less hard waxes for massive yet soft lashes
- Patented Flexor Brush gently coats every lash with supple volume
- Suitable for contact lens wearers
I have been trialing it for the last week or so. It's very soft on the lashes so you definitely won't get flakes or crunchy hard lashes. So a big bonus! I've had to experiment with the number of coats. I'm on my third application at the moment and unfortunately it doesn't give the volume that I like. I'm lucky enough to have length but not volume. I like them really plumped up. However, a work colleague today told me that my lashes looked long and natural so perhaps not such a terrible compliment!
If you're looking for super plumped and volumised lashes this isn't for you. But if you want a comfortable mascara that won't make you look like you have spiders hanging from your eyes and black spots all over your face then this is it.
I think I will try the waterproof one and see if that holds my curl and volume!
Until next time

Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System
Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know about what I've been up to for the last couple of months. After much research and blog reading from other sources I've recently bought the Clarisonic Mia Skin Cleansing System, which I am really loving! I bought it online from adorebeauty.com.au for a very reasonable price. It retails here in Australia for about $149.
I have been using it every evening for the past 4 weeks to cleanse my skin and I have to say my skin feels incredibly soft and supple. My skin uptakes my moisturiser more readily and I don't need alot of it either. I've also noticed that the oilyness on my nose has significantly reduced since using it. Hooray!
Usually as soon as the weather starts to get a little cooler my skin goes dry almost immediately. Yet to happen! Double hooray! I would highly recommend this tool. You can use it in the shower (bonus!). It has replacement heads which you can buy almost anywhere online. It's easy to clean and works with any cleanser that youwoudl normally use. I would suggest you start with the sensitive head first just to see how you go. It's suitable for all skin types so you shouldn't really have any issues. Be mindful that you shouldn't be using an exfoliator with this product. Your skin will start to freak out and break out. You may do some serious damage as well so don't do it!
When using it there's no need to put pressure onto the skin. The rotating head does all the work for you. Finally something that you don't have to work hard for!
If you have used this system I would love to think what you all think of it.
Until next time

Real Techniques make up brushes
Hello everyone,
For the last 6 months or so I have been using Samantha Chapman's (of Pixi Woo fame) Real Techniques make up brushes. I have to say I am so very, very impressed with these brushes. They are lovely and soft, don't splay everywhere, don't molt or shed hairs all over your face, aren't extortionate in price, buff in foundations beautifully, apply powders, bronzers, blushers beautifully and blend eyeshadows perfectly. I still use all my other ones also but am finding I keep going back to the Real Technique ones.
I don't have every single brush as they aren't all available in Australia but you can buy the Starter set, Core set, Travel Essentials set, Foundation brush, Powder brush, Lash/Brow groomer, Shading brush, Blush brush, Kabuki brush and Stippling brush from most Priceline stores. The sets also come with a great cover which converts into a little stand (very convenient for travelling)!

Any others you would like to source Amazon have them online but you need to get them quickly as they are snapped up in a flash!
If you have tried them I would love to know what you all think of these brushes. I learn just as much from you as I hope you do me.

Happy New Year 2013!

Happy New Year to you all. May 2013 bring all the joys, love and happiness that life has to offer!
Remember to do all your research BEFORE you go out and buy product. Test it, ask loads of questions and once your satisfied buy it. DON'T impulse buy and DON'T get forced to purchase by pushy and snooty sales assistants. Otherwise you'll need another whole room just to store product you won't use because it's just not suitable for you! Remember it's your money which you work very hard for! Plenty of bargains to be had so just be clever. You'll quickly learn which assistant is brilliant and which one isn't.
Another quick tip:
Baking/Bicarbonate of soda makes an excellent and cheap exfoliant. Add a teaspoon of soda to your facial cleanser, mix well, and massage into skin about 1-2 times a week. If your skin becomes irritated, use a little less soda and use the treatment at night so that your skin has a chance to recover while you sleep. Remember to always, always moisturize afterwards!
There is some evidence that baking/bicarb soda may be beneficial in treating acne since the exfoliating properties of the soda can increase the skins cell turnover rate. Making your acne look less noticeable. Also, baking soda’s neutralizing properties maybe reduce redness of the skin which can reduce the appearance of acne. If you want to try using baking soda as an acne treatment, use as above. Or make a thicker paste of just baking soda and water and apply it to the acne as a mask for 5-10 minutes or overnight (but use an old pillow slip because when the mask dries it will crumble so you may wake up to a little bit of a mess).
Here's to a brilliant new year of information, colour and more reviews! Please give me your feedback. I'd love to hear what you think and also what you would like to know. Tips of course are always welcome. I couldn't possibly know everything and I'd be a liar if I said i did!
Until next time
